Meet Dr. Kelly Schuh:

Dr. Kelly is a human design practitioner and a shamanic healer. And she believes that the root causes of so many women not achieving their money goals or not having a great relationship with money come from feeling lack of feeling unique or worthy, or feeling like they are aligned with their money, energy and abundance.

Kelly’s Childhood Memory

I absolutely love kicking off our episodes on the podcast by asking our guests their favorite childhood memory and Dr. Kelly’s did not disappoint. Dr. Kelly remembers being a child and skiing with her family. On one of their first ski trips, she spent the morning with her family in ski lessons. As the youngest member at 8-years-old, she was beyond thrilled to be skiing.

Her whole family was intent on listening and learning, but when it came time to ski, Dr. Kelly flew down the mountain without hesitation. That’s one of her earliest memories where she realized she is a go for it gal.

To this day, she still feels like that 8-year-old ready to play and go fast while embracing life.

From Chiropractor to Alignment Coach

Dr. Kelly got her start as a chiropractor, yet now she helps women align with their money, energy and align with their life purpose. While not too much has changed in aligning people, during that time, she has learned a number of lessons!

She was in the negative for  years. When she was pregnant, she found herself sick and struggling in her business. In a moment of weakness, she felt this desire to create better impact, which was when she wrote her book and created a community. The teaching was to really deeply listen and to be willing to take action and to take the pivot, but it took great challenge in my life for her to come to this realization.

Growth through Connected Community

She quickly built her community through the Queen of Worth Facebook group! , experience and embody the six to seven figure CEO of your dreams.

oming back to community peace, it’s like when we can be in a community where we can be vulnerable and other women can acknowledge our worth and acknowledge our gifts, it builds that confidence to go out there and really make make ripples, both in impact but in income to

Self-Care through Work-Life Harmony

For Dr. Kelly, balance and self-care are non-negotiable for her. It all started when she was in chiropractic school, where she learned that she could work four days a week. When it came time to become a mom, she was intentional in her planning.

While there aren’t a ton of models for this balance, she’s made sure she’s setting that model for others. This means she’s prioritizing her health through:

  1. Morning meditation & gratitude.
  2. Physical activity in the morning.

This balance has also been a hard lesson for myself in accepting who I am, as I was put on weight watchers as a child—riding the diet roller coaster for most of my life. While it set me up for healthy eating, I would have rather had to roll model of a physically strong person is an emotionally and mentally strong person. When you’re emotionally strong, you’re a better person overall.

Take a look at the top five people in your life, what is their financial well-being or goals? you become most similar to those five people, so Dr. Kelly is inviting you to join the Queen of Worth Facebook group!

Susan

Oh listeners today you are in for a treat because I have my friend and one of my coaches, Dr. Kelly Schuh with me. Dr. Kelly is the worth and wealth wealth oops, Worth in Wealth Alchemist. And boy is she a good one to lead women in learning how to break through their money challenges. Dr. Kelly is a human design practitioner and a shamanic healer. And she believes that the root causes of so many women not achieving their money goals or not having a great relationship with money come from feeling lack of feeling unique or worthy, or feeling like they are aligned with their money, energy and abundance. Kelly, I am so thankful you are here with us today and cannot wait to dive deeper into our conversation.

Kelly

Thank you so much for having me, Susan. It’s just such a joy to be here and to be in conversations that really, really matter.

Susan

Yes, exactly. And listeners just for clarity and for you to understand. As I mentioned, Dr. Kelly is one of my coaches, I am in her Queen of Worth program, which, oh, I’m not Queen of Worth, I am in that. But this is Abundance Unleashed, which is an amazing program. And I don’t think we’ll dive too deeply into it today. But if that’s something you’d like to learn more about, Kelly would extend an offer for you to join our Queen of Worth community. Right, Kelly?

Kelly

Absolutely. Absolutely.

Susan

We’re gonna go there in just a little bit. But Kelly, I always love to give people a glimpse into who we are. Because everything that has happened for us in life has purpose, I believe, or we have lessons that we learn from things. So what is one of your childhood memories? Who, what helped create that Nepali?

Kelly

You ask and I go right to skiing. Okay, so I moved out from Wilmington, Delaware, and I learned to ski in the Poconos of Pennsylvania, the mountains were a lot smaller. I live in Colorado now. I moved out when I was 17 to go to CU. But that childhood memory. So I want you to imagine my mom had never skied before. My dad had never skied before and my older sister five years older had never skied before. And so we had spent the morning taking our first lesson, right? And because I was little. I was eight years old. They partnered me with the instructor to help me get on the chairlift. So it’s our first chairlift. And we’re going up, up up, up the mountain and I’m I’m just overjoyed. I’m so excited for this new experience. I’m really digging this whole scheme thing, we get to the top of the mountain was a cold day. And the instructor is kind of like slowly telling us what we’re doing, what we’re gonna do, and we’re gonna make our turns and go down the mountain. And my mom is listening, my dad’s listening, and I’m listening. And he’s like, Okay, let’s go. And before you knew it, I was like, off to the races. I went straight down that mountain, I’ll never forget the air coming to my face in the thrill and going fast. And I get to the bottom, and I make a turn. You know, I just learned how to turn and I stopped on a dime. And I look up and here comes like slowly mom and dad and sister slowly making their turns like they’ve been instructed to. And so my perspective of that was like, you go for it. You know, I remember having a coach say throw your heart down the hill and go and chase it. Like I’m a go for it kind of gal. And of course, when my mom reaches me at the bottom, she’s like, Honey, I was so scared. I thought you’re gonna hurt yourself, and you’re going so fast. And so anyway, that’s the essence of who I am. You know, I’m still the eight that wants to play and have fun and go fast and be joyous and embrace life.

Susan

Oh, my goodness. That is a wonderful, wonderful story. And I can just see you like going down that hill with your gorgeous smile, having the time of your life and then getting to the bottom and going away. Right, that you have the joy of being able to watch them come down in their own way. Right. Exactly. Exactly. Oh, what an incredible memory and a great story. Thank you for sharing that with us today. You know, Dr. Kelly, you mentioned you went to CU but you started your career out as a chiropractor and you would do it aligning backs and, you know, keeping people healthy through their alignments there, you’ve shifted your career. And I always hear you say, now I help women align with their money, energy and align with their life purpose. And so, you’ve had to shift from running a practice to being an entrepreneur, right and being a CEO. What are some of the big lessons? What’s the big lesson you’ve learned there?

Kelly

I would say, you know, I look at my turnaround point. So you’re right. So I started my business back in 2004. As a chiropractor, I own my own wellness business, right. And so I loved what I did aligning spines, right? I used to align the body with the brain and the brain with the body. And not a whole lot has shifted, really, because I’m still in the alignment business. But really, what I learned, really started from a place like many people have a place of challenge. I was pregnant with my daughter, who’s not 12, right. So we’re talking 12 years ago, and I was coaching. But at that point in time, I was bringing in about 50k a year. But all of that money coming in was going right back out to marketing, and websites and coaches and all the things so I was in the negative for five years. I had been in the negative in business as a coach. And so I’ll never forget the day, you know, looking down literally, I had this condition when I was pregnant with my daughter that left me I was getting sick, like 10 to 20 times a day throwing up, right? It’s kind of like morning sickness on steroids. And it was one of those days, many, many months into the pregnancy looking down. I’ll never forget our toiled, our brand is church. Did you know that there’s toilets, that’s the brand church. I was in church, yet again.

Susan

I did not know that. I’m so glad you’re telling it again.

Kelly

Right. And, you know, when you’re in church, you surrender and you listen to guidance. And I had a moment, because I had sent all of my patients to a colleague of mine. So we had gone from a dual income family to a single income family and being pregnant and struggling here. And I was $130,000 in debt and, you know, trying to, you know, what am I gonna do, and I had this awakening moment of really wanting to have more impact. And there was this thing called the internet. And imagine that, and so even though I was really I loved my work as a chiropractor, and aligning spines, I knew that I could only get my hands on so many people a day, and I had this, like, heartfelt desire to have greater impact on on people’s lives. And so that was really a real turning point for me. And that’s when I decided that, okay, I could, I could write a book and create a community, and just do a lot more. And so that was a turning point around the impact. And, really, from a soul perspective, you know, I guess the teaching was to really, really deeply listen, and, and to be willing to take take action to take the pivot, but it took great challenge in my life, to like, go and go, Okay, spirit has put me into this place of things need to be different, and that need to be set up differently. And now the body work that I do is more of alignment and women’s worth. And so it took me, you know, you take that moment to a pivotal point where actually the money game changed from a coach challenging me. And I know you’ve heard that story before. And so the first turning point was like, okay, I’m going to shift my business, and better leverage myself. And then the second turning point was a moment where I got really clear that I wanted to, I needed to own my worth to make more money, right? And get beyond that, like surviving from surviving to thriving.

Susan

Right. And, you know, I’ve also heard you say this, and you were talking about you wrote a book, and you knew you could impact more lives. Yeah, but I’ve heard you say, and I believe community is very important to you.

Kelly

It’s huge. It’s huge. Absolutely. Like all of those years as a chiropractor I described myself I was the lone wolf. Like what I mean by that was, I love people. So it’s not like I’m a loner, but in business, you know, I found myself going to a lot of networking events and marketing events back then I did a lot of spinal evaluations out in the community at health fairs and things like that. But all the energy was like, you know, people would say, hey, you know, I would love to support you or get to know you kind of like the coffee date of networking. And you would go to the date like the coffee date. And it just turned into like, it really wasn’t authentic desire of two people wanting to potentially come together like truly to support one another. So what I’ve learned in business is that if you can create a community of like minded people, not just the talk of let’s support one another, but like, bring those words to reality, it brings more joy, it brings more magic, like, we are not meant to do business alone, we are meant to be in community, it makes all the difference.

Susan

And you know, I think that even extends beyond business, right? You’re really not meant to do life, totally alone, but I do know, as a member of your abundance unleashed group, that how quickly, the members of this program, have become a community and have become connected. And some of that has to do that we are all like minded, right? We are all seeking the same thing. But yet, it’s been magical when you’re able to build that community. And I just think that’s something that you do really well. And I think it’s really important for our listeners to hear from you how important that is to let go of the one size fits all right, and find the community that is ready to grow with you and beside you. Some may be in front, some may be beside, some may be behind.

Kelly

Absolutely. Yeah. And I think that one of the gifts I’ve been given is an ability to hold a sacred space, right. And so it’s like you create the sacred container and the sacred space with a community that has the outcome, the women and abundance unleash, like the mission of that program, is to experience and embody the six to seven figure CEO of your dream. So when you have a group coming in with that same intention, and then you hold sacred space, then the vulnerability is there to actually create the change and create the magic, right. And I think that’s, that’s really, really important in that journey. And then you also mentioned, you know, we’re all different, like, we all have special gifts and talents. And I think when it comes to money, and sales and running a business, I think many women don’t really deeply honor their gifts. And so they find themselves in the position where they’re under charging, right, and they’re over giving, and in their place. I call it like the give, give, give, give, give, and they’re not so great at receiving and this holds them back in business. And that emotional struggle. So, coming back to community peace, it’s like when we can be in a community where we can be vulnerable, and other women can acknowledge our worth and acknowledge our gifts, it builds that confidence to go out there and really make ripples, both in impact but in income, too.

Susan

Exactly. Exactly. I mean, and you know, we don’t go into this in abundance unleashed, but I’ve said it, you know, I have also been in a place where I had six figure debt, right that I caught. We climbed out of it, I set a game plan. I hired a money coach. That’s where I started back into having a coach was with a money coach. Yeah. And, you know, I had to learn to receive it. You know, I’m an Enneagram two, and which is a nurturer. We also see that through my human design, I am a nurturer. And I can very easily over give and receive. And so, and that’s when I’m in unhealthy spaces. You know what I’ve learned? But anyway, I agree. So Dr. Kelly, you know, you’re busy in your kind of way, which is what one of the things I love about human design, you learn how to work in your kind of way. But you’re a wife, you’re a mom, you’re a sister, you know, you’ve got a daughter, a teenager coming into the teenage years. You’re running a wonderful business. And how do you maintain work life harmony? You know, I think of it as harmony we are life is this beautiful symphony, right. But sometimes we have to play one instrument a little louder than the other. That’s all the different hats, but still, we’re making this beautiful music. So how do you do it?

Kelly

Yeah, so balance and self care, non-negotiable for me. And I think that’s one of the things that makes me an outlier. It actually started when I considered going to chiropractic school. One of the things that was attractive for me, was this idea that I could work you know, maybe four days a week. You didn’t have to have five days, six days, seven days, which people actually are probably working what feels like eight days, nine days, ten days a week right? So I have, it’s been this commitment as a woman in business of balance was the most, one of the most important things for me. And I really, it’s one of my…health is one of my number one priorities. So when it came time to be a mother, we were at a point in my business where we could either like, I know, first of all, before I even met my husband, I knew I wanted to be a mama. And so when we got engaged, and we’re planning our future, part of that was like, well, how could I be a mama because it’s so important to me. So my son’s, I’m a cancer, like, I have that nurturing thing going on, too. And I knew I wanted to be a mama. And I didn’t want to be a mama that had a business where I didn’t have time. So I think part of it is that intentional, but you’re asking question, like, how do you do it? So first of all, it’s non-negotiable for me. And we don’t have a lot of models of women that are in business for themselves and that health and well being is a non-negotiable. So I haven’t had a lot of that modeling. So I had to be my own coach around that. And, yeah, so my morning is all about my morning routine. So every single morning, I start with meditation. And that could be anywhere between 20 minutes to over an hour, depending on the schedule. And so morning meditation, morning gratitude, and some of that gratitude, I actually will be grateful for the things that I know are coming and it’s magical, like being grateful for the things in advance. So I definitely have some manifestation going on in there. And so those are meditations non-negotiable for me. And then I’m always physically active. And most of times it’s in the morning, but it’s doesn’t always have to be but I tend to be a morning workout person. And I love to run, I’m often you’ll find me training for, you know, a half marathon in the woods. And so I’ll have like a training schedule. So, just depends on the time of year how intensely I’m training, but health and well being is non-negotiable.

Susan

You know, that has also been a hard knock lesson for me. Because I, it goes back to childhood. I have ridden the diet, we roll exercise roller coaster for many years until I had to let go of a childhood belief. You know, my dad doesn’t care for larger people. And so my parents put me on Weight Watchers when I was in fifth grade.

Kelly

Oh my gosh.

Susan

I was chubby. I was not obese, I was charming. And so anyway, I learned it was a blessing and a curse. I learned how to eat well, at a very young age. But what fifth grader wants to go tell her friends, I just became a lifetime member at Weight Watchers because I met my weight goal. Right? I internalized Dr. Kelly, that my beauty was determined by my weight. At you know what, 11 years old.

Kelly

That’s such a young age.

Susan

A very young age that I have ridden, you know, that diet exercise roller coaster, over eat, over exercise, under eat, over exercise, all of that it wasn’t until I was like 46 years old that I let go of that. I also think that’s why I have a plethora of health and wellness certifications. Exactly. You said something so important, which is what guides my line of coaching is that we haven’t had a lot of women modeled for us how to take great care of our bodies. And that when we are physically strong, we’re emotionally strong, mentally strong and we’re able to be more successful in business, and do do more in life, and be more and give more.

Kelly

And give more and be a better parent and be a better wife and be a better friend and be a better sister. It’s yeah, and so we think as women, I mean, the core of my work is around worth, right. And so what I hear a lot of women say is I don’t have the time, I don’t have the time to work out. I don’t have the time to eat well, and you don’t have time not to and so as you said, when we can frame it in a way of it really is part of when we can link it to that desire to give back, right. And we flip it around you got to give to yourself first, right and then be and you are able to give so much more. So, I think that and then he’s brought up kind of at the age of you know from fifth grade that that awareness of your worth around what your physical body looked like and so, in in what we do, it’s like there is so much deconditioning. So, in human design to speak to that they hey say once you have a human design chart reading, and you actually begin to implement what you’re learning, right, it can take seven years or more seven years minimum to decondition. All the things you’ve been told, and you think you’re trying to fit in, based on what you think you’re supposed to be, versus just be who you are. Right?

Susan

Yeah, exactly. It, you know, it’s amazing what we what we carry over from childhood, and then where, what we do with it as adults, you know, as we do, oh, my goodness, this is such a fun episode. And I’m so, so thankful to be here with you. I’m sure you have something for our visitors, our listeners a gift. And then would you also tell our guests how they can find you?

Kelly

Absolutely. So let’s start with that community piece, right? Because what we do know is if you look around at your family and friends, the people that you spend the most time with, like the top five people, quite honestly, wherever their financial well being as is most likely, where you will find yourself. And so, community if you want to up level not just in money, but in having quality of life, you’re going to need to find other women that are up to the same similar goals, right and to up level. So, the first invitation is that safe community. And we have that in Facebook, we have a Queen of Worth community. And so I think that’s the first step, like really knowing that you’re worthy enough to be in a community of women that are going to up, uplift you. Once you join our community, again, Queen of Worth on Facebook, we’re gonna go ahead and start filling you up, you know, you’ll have, will immediately give you a download, five keys to overcome objections, right, which is more as a sales thing, but everything’s energy right. And so as a community, currently it’s twice a month, but we have parties, prosperity parties. And you’ve been to one of my prosperity parties.

Susan

Yes I’ve been. And, you know, I’ve been looking into the 2023 calendar, you know, I always use the last quarter, I finished strong and prepare well, as is what I say. And I’ve been, you know, making sure I get at least one of those a month. It’s on the calendar, you know, the women that are in there are amazing. And the connection, the friendship, it just, it’s a great, great place to be.

Kelly

Absolutely, absolutely. So I would say come party with us, right, and we party and prosperity. And if everything’s energy, right, you’ll get a boost of like, next Level frequency. Because most people are, their financial picture doesn’t change much. I mean, that’s what you can, you can almost assure yourself is that financial picture is not going to change unless you change and you change who you’re hanging with that are going to lift you up as you rise. So that’s the first thing, it’s all about community for me and making sure that we’re educating you. And yeah, there was something else I wanted to share. We talked about Queen of Worth. We talked about the prosperity parties.

Susan

We’ve talked about self care and meditation. We’ve talked about valuing yourself and the power of your self worth. Is there any other tip or piece of advice that you would like to leave our listeners with today as they are working towards work life harmony?

Kelly

Towards the work life harmony, I would say make it non-negotiable. Make it non-negotiable, right? We say we want things but then our actions are often not in alignment with what we say we value. So value your worth and value your health and when you make it non-negotiable it’s a decision and your decisions are what will shape your destiny. So, encourage you like today like you’re listening right now make a decision and make it non-negotiable.

Susan

Put it in that calendar. It’s in my calendar and red red means non-negotiable, non-negotiable.. Thank you. Thank you again for being here.
